In addition to our staff, Redeemer is served and governed by a Session comprised of ruling elders elected by the members of the congregation. Deacons are called to minister to the needs of the congregation and exercise a ministry of sympathy and service.
Note: As Redeemer's leadership team seeks it's new Pastor, John Aasman has been asked to serve as a transition coordinator to handle administrative and some pastoral duties.
John and his family came to Redeemer five years ago drawn by its theological depth and Christ-centered teaching rooted in the Protestant Reformed heritage of John Calvin. They remained because of the engaging community and stimulating conversations.
John served as an Army Chaplain for ten years before retiring in 2024. Before his military service, he was an entrepreneurial pastor who founded both churches and businesses.
John and his wife Joanne have been married for 31 years and have three adult children. Jordan and Jesse both work in North Carolina, while
Katelyn is a senior at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden.
In his free time, John enjoys remodeling their basement, maintaining the best lawn on the block, and reading theology.
Chris has been a part of leading music at churches and college ministries for over 25 years, and has been at Redeemer since 2008. He met his wife Rebecca through a campus ministry at the University of Utah where they both graduated before moving to Colorado in 2005. They have one daughter in high school
As Worship Director at Redeemer, Chris and the music team focus on leading gospel-oriented music as a means to worship each week. Chris recorded a 5-song Hymns EP Chase Your Fears Away, in 2023.
